Continuation of my digital collage work, working in both PVA glue and emulsion paint, printing onto hessian fabric. Whilst the PVA prints were successful, the emulsion prints were patchy and difficult to work with. When peeling back the layers of paper often parts of the print itself would peel away, making reducing the excess paper hard to achieve, resulting in patchy designs. PVA would be an optimal medium to take forward if I were to continue exploring this type of printing, with the designs transitioning onto the hessian in more of a seamless manner. For future reference, I would have to consider reversing the initial design when printing text, as the pattern is printed backward onto the fabric. Similarly, I could think about scale; creating matching prints in more unified sizes when presenting multiple together, as well as ensuring that the prints aren't too big to transfer properly over (although experimenting with the viability of larger scale designs could be something to look into).
