Printing from Collage

Influenced by my digital collage and Cambridge trip photos I created prints in both emulsion paint and PVA glue onto hessian fabric. The emulsion prints were less successful resulting in patchy prints, as the layer of paper was difficult to peel off without also removing the print itself. However, the PVA prints were much more successful, both colour and detail within the design transferred across in a much more seamless manner. In the future, if I were to utilize this method again I would use PVA, and I would make sure that the prints were a matching, coherent size, so the patterns would mesh better together if displayed alongside each other. Another thing to consider would be the scale, how large of a pattern could I create? Or alternatively what the optimal size would be (i.e. smaller), to ensure the smoothest possible transition of the design onto my chosen surface.
