Fashion Structure

I initially struggled with this task as I felt that I had to create a fashion garment or outfit from scratch, it was only when I referred back to previous successful outcomes that I decides to take a more structural route, rather than purely functional clothing. The PVA prints being a textile exploration in themselves, they influenced the design of this piece, as well as my wooden sculpture, creating a large, printed structure. The PVA prints were still relatively effective on cardboard, and the design itself only peeled away slightly. Painted patterns underneath mimic these designs, making the structure cohesive in colour scheme and pattern. Made from cardboard, the structure holds up relatively well, with thinner offshoots creating further dimension and depth. In the future, I would think further on how the structure could interact with a person as a 'garment' of a sort. Photographing the structure alongside a person at different angles would've helped me to visualize this in a clearer manner.
